The Daughters of Charity attended St. Mary’s Spiritual Center and Historic Site’s blessing of its new Visitor Center on Sunday, September 13, 2009. Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton traveled to Baltimore in 1808 and arrived to what is now St. Mary’s Spiritual Center. She took vows before Bishop John Carroll on this site before moving to Emmitsburg and establishing the first women religious community in the United States.
