A pilgrimage to the Seton Shrine begins at the Visitor Center, which serves as the starting point of your tour by providing valuable background information about Elizabeth Ann Seton. Friendly and helpful docents are on hand to help you make the most of your visit.
Located on the lower level of St. Joseph's Provincial House, adjacent to the Basilica, the Visitor Center offers the following:
- The Orientation Theater introduces you to the life of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and the Basilica that bears her name.
- The Shrine Museum provides further context for learning about the incredible life of Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton and her enduring legacy.
- The Everlasting Expression Wall is an inspiring repository of messages engraved in brass and incorporated into a beautiful statue of Mother Seton.
- A Gift Shop adjacent to the Museum offers religious gifts, books, and Shrine souvenirs.
Hours
The Basilica, Visitor Center, historic buildings, and Gift Shop are open daily from 10 am to 4:30 pm, except Mondays. Only the Basilica is open on Mondays.
