The Seton Shrine is hiring! Join our team here at the Shrine, and help us share Elizabeth Ann Seton’s remarkable story with the world.

We are currently hiring for the position listed below.

Communications Coordinator

Grow your skills, professional contacts, and career while advancing the New Evangelization at a beautiful, historic Catholic Shrine!

What we’re looking for: In the last year we’ve launched a series of reflections by notable Catholic bloggers, produced a series of online promo videos and more than tripled our Facebook followers. To continue that growth and momentum we need the help of someone who is at home in the world of Catholic media – someone who is a capable copywriter and ideally has a secondary strength in either web design, graphic design, social media marketing, or photography. We would like to see a college degree, but we are more interested in skills and sensibilities than credentials. Most importantly, we’re also looking for a good cultural fit within the Seton Shrine team.

What’s involved in the job: In this role, you would be working onsite at the Shrine to produce digital and print media; the work would include interfacing with free-lancers and firms to maximize the Shrine’s reach. You would also work closely with the team that produces the Shrine’s programming to ensure content and programs are well-aligned. In addition to daily tours and liturgies, you can check out a sampling of our programs here, here and here. Learn more about the Shrine.

About Emmitsburg: It’s a small town rich with Catholic history – home to “the cradle of bishops” Mount St. Mary’s Seminary – within an hour of metro DC and metro Baltimore. It’s close to Gettysburg, PA and Frederick, MD both of which are great places to live with plenty of arts, outdoor recreation, and foodie destinations.

How to apply: Send, resume, cover letter, and some samples of your work to Beth Gilbert, Human Resources Coordinator, at You’ll find a copy of the job description here.
