Joseph\u2019s Valley Days, a new and exciting living history experience<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u201d said Rob Judge, executive director of the National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann History Interpreters who portray Mother Seton\u2019s students,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> visitors can experience what <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">it was like <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">during Mother Seton\u2019s lifetime in the very<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> same<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> valley that she called home.\u201d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Over the course of a weekend, v<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">isitors will immerse <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">themselves <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">into <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">spring in St. Joseph\u2019s Valley<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> with opportunities to interact with history interpreters <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">portraying real people from Mother Seton\u2019s world<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, including her students.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, a<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"none\">petting zoo, colonial dance<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, and outdoor activities. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">In addition, there <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">is a full schedule of activities for visitors to participate in<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> including <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">basket weaving, tug-of-war, kite making, a para<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">de of traditional farm animals <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">and more. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Visitors are also welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, May 2 from noon to 5 p.m. The last admission for each day is 3:30pm. The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton promotes her life and legacy to inspire everyone. More than 200 years ago, she came to Emmitsburg as a bankrupt widow with five children, and went on to found the first free Catholic school for girls staffed by sisters in the U.S., and the first community of religious women established in the U.S. Today, her legacy includes several religious communities with thousands of sisters, who serve others through schools, social service centers and hospitals throughout the world. Elizabeth Ann Seton was canonized in 1975. Her remains are entombed at the National Shrine that bears her name.
