Archbishop William E. Lori helped the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton open a new exhibit marking the 50th anniversary of its patron\u2019s canonization with a Mass Jan. 4 on her feast day.<\/p>\n

El 14 de septiembre de 1975, Santa Isabel Ana Seton se convirti\u00f3 en la primera estadounidense de nacimiento en ser canonizada santa por la Iglesia Cat\u00f3lica. \u201cFew people fit this description better than St. Elizabeth Ann Seton \u2013 a wife and mother, a widow seeking meaning and direction in her life, a convert to Catholicism, an educator, and last but not least, the founder of the Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph,\u201d Archbishop Lori said. \u201cShe was a pilgrim of hope; she exemplified the hope that impels us to seek God\u2019s will and follow the path of holiness, wherever it might lead.\u201d<\/p>\n
