Civil War Sisters Stories – June 29

June 29 @ 12:45 pm - 1:15 pm

Free

Sisters in Emmitsburg and in congregations throughout the country were called to serve during the Civil War. Their charitable efforts brought healing and solace to the wounded on both the battlefields and in hospitals. Discover how the Sisters provided hope in the midst of suffering and despair during our Civil War Sisters Stories.

Sisters from various congregations and other Seton scholars will be on-site to discuss what sisters in the 1860s experienced during the Civil War. June 29 features Sister Betty Ann McNeil, DC, author of the book Balm of Hope, a compendium of the sisters’ Civil War history. The event is free.
