Tea Culture and the American Revolution
February 21 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Learn about the role that tea played in society in Elizabeth Ann Seton’s time. You will have the opportunity to see her family’s tea caddy (pictured above) and gain insight into the rituals around tea in her father, Richard Bayley’s house. The artifact has been preserved and will be on display and the same variety of tea (some leaves were found in the caddy) that the family enjoyed will be available for sampling. Scott Keefer, Director of the Provincial Archives will lead the discussion of tea in America and how “tea time” played a part in daily family life.
Cost: $10
This event will also be held March 7th.
