DESCRIPTION:Nestled among Maryland’s mountains is St. Joseph’s School\, forerunner of St. Joseph’s Academy\, Mother Seton’s historic 19th century school. You’ll meet the Seton Shrine’s Historical Interpreters portraying Sisters of Charity and Students who were a part of Elizabeth Ann Seton’s world. Go back in time and become a part of the story by joining them for a day of learning\, fun and games of the past.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat To Expect: \n\n\n\n\n\nCost: $8 adults\, $5 age 7-18\, age 6 and under free\nMost visitors will spend about two hours at the Shrine.\nEncounter historical interpreters\, many of whom portray actual students from Mother Seton’s time! Don’t be shy: you are encouraged to speak with them\, but don’t be surprised if their knowledge doesn’t exceed the year 1818.\nLearn how to become a historical interpreter and take on a character of your own creation!\nTry on costume pieces and learn how to deliver a monologue.  \nTry our hands-on demonstration of knitting and cross stitch\nPlay outdoor recreational games of the past!\nDiscover places of the past by exploring maps and drawing them.\nPlay some games with our Junior History Interpreters as they teach you how to have “recreation” at Mother Seton’s school.\n\nReserve your tickets here.
