Hours & Directions

The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton is open daily and easily accessed along U.S. 15 in Emmitsburg, Maryland, about 20 miles north of Frederick MD and 10 miles south of Gettysburg PA.

Due to the Coronavirus, our site is closed, and no Masses, Confession or tours are taking place. Please check back here as restrictions in Maryland are lifted and we’re able to reopen.

Shrine Hours

The Basilica, Museum and Gift Shop are open Monday through Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 12-5pm. On Wednesdays, we remain open until 7:30pm. The grounds and historic cemetery are open year-round from dawn to dusk.

During our later hours on Wednesdays, the Basilica, Museum and Visitor Center are open. We welcome you to come and self-guide our site during this time. Simply stop in our Visitor Center to pick up the map of our site.

Historic Homes Tour

See the two historic homes where Elizabeth Ann Seton lived and worked on our Historic Homes Tour. The tour lasts 45-60 minutes.

Tour Times: Monday through Saturday at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm, and Sunday at 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 3pm and 4pm.

Ticket Fees: $8/adult, $6/youth ages 7-18, and free for children ages 6 and under.
