The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton is open daily and easily accessed along U.S. 15 in Emmitsburg, Maryland, about 20 miles north of Frederick MD and 10 miles south of Gettysburg PA.
The Basilica, Museum and Gift Shop are open Monday through Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 12-6pm. The grounds and historic cemetery are open year-round from dawn to dusk.
On Wednesdays, we are open until 7:30pm. Although no tours are available after 4:30pm, the Basilica, Museum and Visitor Center are open. We welcome you to come and self-guide our site during this time. Simply stop in our Visitor Center to pick up the map of our site.
Historic Homes Tour
Monday through Saturday: 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4:30pm. On Wednesday, the tour at 11:30am has been replaced by our living history tour, Catherine Comes Home, which also takes place at 12:15pm, 1:15pm and 2pm on Wednesdays. Learn more about Catherine Comes Home here.
Sunday: On Sundays, the Historic Homes Tour is replaced by our living history tour, Catherine Comes Home, which takes place at 12:15pm, 1pm, 1:45pm, 2:40pm, 3:30pm and 4:15pm.
On the Historic Homes Tour, see the two historic homes where Elizabeth Ann Seton lived and worked. The tour lasts about 45-60 minutes, and tickets are $8/adult, $6/youth ages 7-18, and free for children ages 6 and under.
If you wish to do a self-guided tour, you are welcome to do so. Please stop in our Visitor Center to pick up the map of our site.
