(50 for 50 series) “My wife Kathryn, now deceased, had a special devotion to Elizabeth and through the years we visited the Shrine many times. One of those times while praying at her altar, Kathryn said “Should I ask St Elizabeth for grand children?” I said, “Couldn’t hurt!” Next year we had four grandchildren! Flash forward, when those grand children were 7 years old, we brought the whole family, over 20 total, to the Shrine for the Navy weekend (Sea Services) mass. That’s a snap shot of our devotion to the Shrine and St Elizabeth. There are many more!”
