A Pastor Shares Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton’s Deep Devotion to the Eucharist

How St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Led a Virginia Pastor to the Eucharist

(50 for 50 series)  Father Denis Donahue, pastor of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Falls Church, VA has a special devotion to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton that he developed while studying at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. He was particularly inspired by Elizabeth’s connection to the Eucharist and how it drew her to convert to Catholicism.

He shared her story and his own with his parishioners as they prepared to walk the Seton Route of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage in 2024. He emphasized that deeper connection to the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist benefits Catholics both personally and communally. His group came to the Seton Shrine for mass and then walked the 3 miles to the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes at Mount St. Mary’s University, joining other pilgrims in prayer and reflection.
