When I was pregnant with my first child, born in January of 1975, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton was not yet a Saint but an older lady in our church had a relic of hers. She made the sign of the cross over my stomach every Sunday. I didn’t give much thought to it at the time.
It was exciting many years later to discover that St. Elizabeth Ann Seton was canonized on my birthday the very year my daughter Kelly was born. In addition, my daughter is a teacher in an all-girls school. I consider St. Elizabeth Ann Seton to be her patron.
