Prayers and “Spiritual Friends” Credited with Miraculous Recovery

Two relics. One miracle.

(50 for 50 series)  In January 2022, Joe Hermosillo, a father of six, faced a life-threatening health crisis when his blood oxygen levels plummeted due to severe lung complications following a mild case of COVID-19. As his condition worsened, his wife, Megan, sought spiritual support by initiating a novena to Blessed Michael McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus, known for his intercession for families in distress. Thousands joined in prayer, and miraculously, Joe’s oxygen levels improved dramatically overnight.

But Joe was not out of the woods. Then family friend Fr. Bill Kuchinsky and Joe’s sister Teresa individually visited the tomb of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and prayed for Joe’s recovery and help in obtaining a relic of Blessed Michael McGivney (since Mother Seton was gifted many relics in her lifetime they thought she could help gift us obtain the relic we were seeking and of course she did!). Both prayers were answered by two separate sources on the same day. They were able to present Joe with two relics from Blessed Michael McGivne. After being blessed with these relics, Joe’s recovery accelerated; he was removed from the ventilator within days and eventually returned home fully healed.

The Hermosillos attribute this extraordinary recovery to the intercession of these two “spiritual friends,” whose lives were intertwined geographically and spiritually, and whose legacy continues to inspire faith and hope.
