The Jubilee Year of 2025 began on Christmas Eve with Pope Francis opening the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica. Archbishop William E. Lori of Baltimore has designated The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton a Jubilee Pilgrimage site.
A Jubilee year typically takes place every 25 years, and celebrates God’s mercy with a focus on pilgrimage, reconciliation, and spiritual renewal. This year’s theme is “Pilgrims of Hope.” Mother Seton is a beautiful model of hope, and we look forward to welcoming Jubilee pilgrims to the Shrine in 2025 as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of her canonization.
